Dave Welsh has been at Microsoft Corporation for more than 12 years, and works in Microsoft’s Corporate Standards Group where he covers Microsoft’s Corporate Standards strategies on Smart Cities and also the Internet of Things (IoT). In his day job Dave works directly with all main Microsoft development teams and Microsoft’s customer facing operations globally.
Educated at Concordia University Center for Building Studies (Montreal) and the Technical University of Eindhoven, Department of Architecture (The Netherlands), Dave has been active with different international, US and EU industry standards and also ICT standards organizations on a wide range of topics for over 35 years.
Dave is currently Chair of the US national committee on Systems and Software Engineering standards to ISO/IEC, and he is also a USA Expert member of the ISO Technical Management Board (TMB) Strategic Advisory Group on Smart Cities.
