ZIEGLER Sébastien

Sébastien-Ziegler-Session2.jpgSébastien Ziegler is the founder and Director general of Mandat International, a foundation based in Geneva with special consultative status to the UN and member of the International Telecommunication Union.

He graduated in International relations at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, followed by a Master in Environment, a MBA in international administration (HEC Geneva), and complementary executive courses at Harvard Business School in Boston, Stanford University, UC Berkeley and EPFL.

Sébastien founded two foundations, as well as two ICT-related SMEs. He is also founding member and board member of the IoT Forum and Vice-Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Subcommittee on the IoT. He initiated several national and international research projects in the area of ICT, with a focus on IPv6 and multiprotocol interoperability. He is currently coordinating two European research projects: IoT6 (www.iot6.eu) researching the potential of IPv6 for the Internet of Things and cloud computing; and IoT Lab (www.iotlab.eu) exploring the potential of crowd sourcing and crowd sensing with mobile phones for the Internet of Things. He is participating in other Euopean reseach projects related to green buildings and smart cities, and is supporting international cooperation between Europe and Asia. He organized several international conferences and has been invited to speak in several international fora on IoT, IPv6 and ICT.
