John Frieslaar has been involved in the Telecoms/ICT industry since 1980. He is currently responsible for research and leadership into sustainability and sustainable solutions, focused on identifying new opportunities to improve environmental management using ICT.
John holds an MSc in Environmental Decision Making (2012), a Masters of Business Administration (2002), a MA in Marketing (2003), a BSc degree (2004) and several diplomas. Having worked globally with several market-leading companies, John has built his experience in the areas of change management, strategy development, operations management, security, solutions marketing, new product development, consultancy and sales. His current focus includes developing a systemic approach to environmental management, understanding and positioning the role of smart cities and big data in addressing sustainability and the limits to growth, and in shaping solutions for the emerging digital economy.
