​Giulio Ceccarini has been working as a patent examiner at the EPO since 2000 in the area of ICT, after working for Siemens ICN on 2G and 3G networks. He is a key member in the EPO Working Group on ICT Standards, and also liaises with Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs) concerning interactions between the patent and standards development systems. He has submitted papers and represented the EPO at various global SDO IPR meetings (ITU, ETSI, IEEE-SA...) and IPR events (EU IPR2-Project). He is also a key member of the EPO Working Groups on Smart Grids and Green Communication Networks. Giulio earned his degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Bologna (Italy).
