FARKAS János

​János Farkas is a research engineer at Ericsson Research. He is the editor of the IEEE P802.1Qca Path Control and Reservation (PCR) project. He was one of the main contributors to IEEE 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging. He has been an active contributor to various standards as a voting member of IEEE 802.1. He has been working on carrier networks based on Ethernet in the past few years. His recent focus includes cloud and software defined networking. His former research activities include IP QoS solutions for radio access networks and network traffic management. He has a number of patents and research papers in the area of telecommunications networks. He has Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
