Matthias Kern is Senior Programme Officer in the Technical Assistance Branch of the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions. He has the lead for identifying and establishing or further strengthening partnerships and international cooperation related to technical assistance that address priorities of the Conferences of the Parties. Since 2009, he leads the work on partnerships dealing with the environmentally sound management of used and end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment under the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal.
