Kiru has 28 years of experience in the ICT sector with five of those as an academic and researcher.
He is currently the Chief Director: Cybersecurity Operations in the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services. His role encompasses the operationalising and management of the National Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).
Kiru received his PhD in 2012 and he is currently a visiting academic attached to the University of Witwatersrand.
