As a part of the International Public Sector team, Rodrigo is responsible for managing the commercial relationship between Vodafone Global Enterprise and the various Organizations in Geneva as well as their field locations worldwide.Working exclusively with the Aid & Development segment since 2006 (with postings in Afghanistan, South Sudan, Kenya and for the last 4 years, Geneva), Rodrigo has gather invaluable experience and insight on the common challenges faced by said organizations.
He is passionate about the positive impact achieved when Humanitarian, Development and Private Sector organizations coordinate their approach in order to form true partnerships working on bringing true and sustainable development of vulnerable communities around the Globe.

Title: Vodafone’s IoT Solutions: Improving lives through connectivity.
Although Vodafone is currently and successfully working on projects helping cities “get smarter” around the world, we will be highlighting how technologically simple solutions can be implemented by communities in the most vulnerable conditions. Such solutions bring a positive (and almost immediate) impact on the lives and future of the people affected.Using an already existent and widely spread solution (M-pesa) as a base, Vodafone is contributing with a range of IoT solutions covering various areas: Education, Health, Agriculture, Sanitation and Transport.The main objective of my session is to highlight those solutions and to discuss their applicability in connection to the SDGs.
