Sergio De Cola is an Electrical Engineer, graduated in 1985 from the School of Engineering at the “University of the Republic” (UDELAR) of Uruguay. Holds accreditation as "Project Management Professional (PMP) ", issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI), and has attended postgraduate courses in computer science, robotics and telecommunications. He has more than 25 years of professional experience working for the private sector, in computer infrastructure, data communication, telephony, and software development companies. He has held positions of Technical Consultant, Project Manager, Technical Manager and Software Development Manager. He also served as a consultant in Telecommunications for local and regional businesses, participating in projects in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Since 1982 he teach at the School of Engineering (UDELAR), currently responsible for the "Computer Architecture" course. He has also lectured on "Communication Protocols", "Computer Networks" and "Technology Management", among others.Since 2011 he held the post of Director of the National Directorate of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM-Dinatel) of Uruguay.
Sergio De Cola es Ingeniero Electrónico, egresado en 1985 de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de la República (UDELAR) de Uruguay. Posee acreditación como “Project Management Professional (PMP)”, expedida por el Project Management Institute (PMI), y ha realizado múltiples cursos de posgrado en informática, robótica y telecomunicaciones. Tiene más de 25 años de experiencia profesional desarrollada en el sector privado, en empresas de infraestructura informática, comunicación de datos, telefonía y desarrollo de software. Ha ocupado posiciones de Asesor Técnico, Gerente de Proyectos, Gerente Técnico y Gerente de Desarrollo de Software. También se desempeñó como Consultor en Telecomunicaciones para empresas locales y de la región, participando de proyectos en Brasil, Chile, México, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana y Venezuela. Desde 1982 es docente de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la UDELAR, siendo actualmente responsable del curso de “Arquitectura de Computadoras”. Además ha dictado cursos y conferencias sobre “Protocolos de Comunicación”, “Redes de Computadoras” y “Gestión de la Tecnología”, entre otros. Desde 2011 ocupa el cargo de Director de la Dirección Nacional de Telecomunicaciones del Ministerio de Industria, Energía y Minería (MIEM-Dinatel) de Uruguay.
