 | Session 1: The Future of Television Policy and Standardisation 
               Objectives: This session will focus on the policy enablers, including spectrum management, for the successful and impactful future television services. Emerging trends, government policies, industry challenges and opportunities will be discussed with government institutions and regulators from Asia & Pacific region. The session will also present current and future regional and international standardization roadmaps pursued by ITU dedicated groups. It will include studies to address emerging security challenges in cable, satellite and over the air television in support of a sustainable development of TV-related systems and technologies. Also, the role of television as a reliable source of information and means to provide entertainment will be discussed, including how the television can help solving societal challenges introduced by the lockdown, during the pandemic (COVID-19).

 Objectives: AI technologies are fast becoming essential tools for the broadcasting industry, enabling new services that when combined with immersive sensory media using audio-visual and haptic content, offer new audience experiences, personalized services and expanded accessibility. At the same time, the integration of broadcasting, broadband and web platforms is pushing broadcasters and content creators to offer more than just “simple” programme to the audience. This session will showcase experiences mainly from Asia & Pacific region and explore the potential of these emerging technologies and applications to greatly enhance television user experiences
