Mick Fox received a B.Eng in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University in 1997 and has worked in the telecommunications industry since then. He has over 10 year’s experience in solution architecture and service design roles in mobile operators, focusing on data and messaging services. Subsequent to this, Mick took a role in CEM industry, gaining significant exposure to network probing in a CEM and network management context. Most recently, Mick has been responsible for developing ComReg's Network Neutrality strategy and provided significant drafting contributions to various BEREC documents, including the Net Neutrality Regulatory assessment methodology BoR (17) 178 |
Giulio Maggiore Chairman of ETSI TC INT, Telecom Italia
He received BS Degree in Electronic Engineering in 1991, and Master In Information Technology and Telecommunication in 1992 by Politecnico of Turin. Joined CSELT, R&D Telecom Italia Group in 1993. In 2000 Giulio joined TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) in Core Network Acceptance Testing. In 2006 he joined Telecom Italia in the Service Layer Engineering group. Since 2008 he is in Telecom Italia Mobile Core Network Engineering Group dealing with Mobile IMS, Packet Switch, WiFi offload and customer experience driven engineering. Present job is dealing with Core Network Quality and Optimizations within Smart Pipe and Service Chain group. Member of IEEE and GSMA where in 2010 he led Network Efficiency Task Force Group. Vice Chairman of ETSI Methods of Testing and Specification (MTS) Technical Committee from 2010 to 2012. Chairman of ETSI Core Network and Interoperability Testing (INT) Technical Committee since 2008. Giulio is Technical Program Committee member of several conferences, and author of several papers and lectures. |
Michael Mild CEO, SoftWell Performance AB
Michael Mild has been working in the IT industry since 1970. He holds a Master in Computer Science from Stockholm University. He worked for KTH 1970-1973 in research and as assistant professor to Börje Langefors, Sweden's first IT professor at KTH. After KTH Michael worked for: Honeywell Bull (1973-1975), Hewlett Packard (1976-1980), and Tandem Computers (1980-1992). Michael worked as telecom expert at Hewlett Packard 1978-1980 and at Tandem Computers' European System Support Group (ESSG) in Germany 1980-1988. Michael worked for Tandem Computers' High Performance Research Center (HPRC) in Germany 1988-1992. In 1992 Michael started SoftWell a consulting company focused on all aspects of Quality Assurance. With customers, such as Ericsson, Stockholm Stock Exchange, SEB, Handelsbanken, and the Swedish Defense. In 2004 SoftWell was transformed to SoftWell Performance with focus on an in-house developed high-end performance test tool for the telecom industry (MBC). Among the customers are Ericsson, Oracle in San Francisco, and Tele2 a telecom operator in Sweden. In 2010 Michael was asked by ETSI to write the document TR 101 577: Performance testing of distributed systems: Concepts and terminology. In 2013 TR 101 577 with some additions was approved as ITU-T Recommendation Q.3930. |
Mia Petrović Senior Expert, Division of Control of Compliance, Communications Regulatory Agency, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Mia Petrović received Law Bachelor degree (2011) and Master degree (2012) from the Faculty of Law, Sarajevo University. Since 2014 employed at the Communications Regulatory Agency. From January 2014 until October 2018 she worked for Legal Department in the area of normative legal affairs and harmonization of legislation in CRA with the acquis communautaire of the European Union. Since October 2018 she is a Senior expert in Division of Control of Compliance with License Terms and conditions. Passed bar exam in 2014 at the Bosnia and Herzegovinan Federal Ministry of Justice. She has completed internship at the Municipal Court in Sarajevo. She has participated in many trainings and workshops related to: harmonization of Bosnia and Herzegovinian legislation with the acquis communautaire, head of administrative procedure, field of public procurement, professional training in the Constitutional Court of the Federation Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federal Prosecutor's Office and the Supreme Court of the Federation Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Rustam Pirmagomedov Associated Professor, SPbSUT
In 2010 Mr Pirmagomedov graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunication (SPbSUT). In 2014, he received Cand.Sc. degree in SPbSUT, and his thesis was on the “Study of physical channel's failures in passive optical networks and development of methods for reliability prediction”, which was developed in collaboration with Rostelecom. The results of this research were successfully implemented, and currently are used for maintaining and designing of xPON access networks on the existing telecommunication networks. Currently, Mr Pirmagomedov is associate professor of the department of “Telecommunication Networks and Data Transmission” in SPbSUT. Since 2016 he has been focusing on research on medical applications of IoT as a member of the “Biodriver” project team. In addition, since 2016, he is also a paper reviewer of the International Conference on Advanced Communications Technology. His scientific interests include IoT, nanonetworks, body area networks, it-bio interfaces. |
Andrea Scaloni
Senior Network Planning & Optimization Engineer, Nokia, Italy
Andrea Scaloni received the M. Sc. Degree in electronic engineering from the Marche Polytechnic University (formerly University of Ancona), Italy, in 1999. In 2000-2005 he was a Network Engineer in Telecom Italia Lab, Turin, Italy. Since 2005 he has been a Network Planning & Optimization Engineer working on 3G and 4G cellular networks with Nokia Networks, Rome, Italy. Since 2015 he combines telco expertise with Big Data & Analytics, by exploiting Minimization of Drive Tests (MDT) features: mobile users’ positioning and profiling, geographical analysis of network performance and user experience, mobility patterns and fingerprinting. Leonid Semakov Product Engineer, Rohde & Schwarz, Germany
Leonid Semakov has worked for the Rohde & Schwarz as Product Engineer in the Test and Measurement Division since 2017. Lecturer and engineer in the Department of Electrodynamics and Antennas - University of Telecommunications and Informatics (PSUTI). After the Telecommunications graduating, he got a job in EMF monitoring scientific research laboratory NILEM as a Research Associate. This Lab gave in-depth knowledge and engaged in innovative and topical tasks that are still relevant today. He was involved in development of EMF HVAC simulation and analysis software for high-voltage transmission line corridors (PKLEP, python); Development of medical, scientific system - EMF HVAC simulator; Development of RF anechoic chamber with Automated Measurement Systems; Design and characterization of EMF shielding composite materials and nanomaterials. He completed a huge project with tasks related to Electromagnetic Ecology and Electromagnetic Radiation Safety of digital signals and modulated fields for private and governmental customers, also participated in the project of measurement and analysis of EMF from electric transport systems. Changing position from engineer to Head of the fiber optics department, he worked in a certified service partner company, where he met with major manufacturers of equipment for testing and development. He was responsible for hardware and software maintenance of OTDR, spectrum analyzers, power meters, OS and measurement software restoration. He has established a new OTDR service department and upon successful completion of the company training, Leonid received a certificate "Service inc. repair and calibration", "Telecommunication Technology Expert". Due to the construction of new core networks he concentrated on tasks like RF over Fiber, 400 Gbps network verification, OTN core and metro network testing for providers with international capacity for telecom carriers. Later he works with traffic generation and performance analysis hardware and software systems, integration of solutions for testing the functionality and performance of L2-L7 Ethernet based networking products, systems for simulating real end user environment, IMAP, DDoS emulations for data centers. His primary task at the Rohde & Schwarz is to develop regional new product introduction (NPI), helps to make optimal decisions in renewing and improving their equipment. Furthermore, he guides his customers in defining and deploying automated hardware and software solutions to decrease test time and measuring complex device characteristics. Today, his spectrum of work includes wireless systems conformance, 5G, IoT, Ethernet compliance, mmW generation, and network performance tests. Apart from his engineering profession, he has been active in university programs and music instruments developing projects. |
