Hugo Romero is an Electrical Engineer from the National University of Colombia, with specialization in Telecommunication Business Management at the Andes University.
He has been linked to the Commission for Communications Regulation for several years, where he has served as a consultant of regulatory studies and projects in telecommunications like: Measures to combat theft of mobile devices; International Mobile Roaming Service; Definition of technical requirements for the deployment of mobile signal jammers in prisons; and Obligations of service providers for the development of a National Telecommunications System for Emergency, public protection and disaster relief.
In his professional career he has worked in several telecommunications sector companies, such the ETB and mobile operator COMCEL S.A., where directed for 15 years the fraud control and Revenue Assurance and for 8 years the International Roaming Service.
