Summary:
|
Digital twin technology has gained extensive application across various urban services such as smart cities, intelligent transportation, smart firefighting. This technology integrates the physical world with the virtual one by using three-dimensional (3D) visualization technology to create a high-precision digital model that enables real-time monitoring, prediction and maintenance of these assets or processes. 3D visualization technology is one of the core technologies of the digital twin system. Via this technology, entities or processes in the physical city can be converted into 3D models in virtual city and presented in a more intuitive manner. To achieve visualization in digital twin systems, especially for scenarios with high-fidelity requirements in smart city, a dedicated digital twin visualization system is typically needed to leverage 3D visualization technology for rendering and interaction.
This Recommendation describes functional architecture of visualization system in digital twins for smart sustainable cities and communities (SSC&C).
