Summary:
|
Fixed, mobile and satellite convergence (FMSC) is the capability that provides services and applications to end users regardless of the fixed, mobile or satellite access technologies being used. Multi-access edge computing (MEC) is deployed at the edge of the FMSC network as a computing resource, it sinks the core network computing, storage, acceleration, content, security and other capabilities to the edge of FMSC network, which can reduce the service transmission delay and effectively alleviate the business data demand for the network bandwidth of the FMSC network. This Recommendation specifies the requirements, scenarios, framework, network function enhancements, procedures and security considerations of MEC for FMSC in IMT-2020 networks and beyond.
