Recommendation ITU-T G.672 covers the transmission related aspects of all types of optical components used in long haul networks and access networks. A broad range of types of optical components is included in this Recommendation. This Recommendation also includes transmission characteristics of optical components under the full range of operating conditions, but does not specify the operating service conditions, installation aspects, or other aspects of components not affecting the optical transmission path. This Recommendation also draws upon the relevant IEC definitions and test methods where applicable.
