Summary:
|
The revision updates Recommendation ITU-T K.121 to reflect developments in radiocommunication networks, including small cells, shared installations, active antenna systems and changes to network configurations. It strengthens guidance on life-cycle compliance management, coordination among operators, infrastructure providers and authorities, and clear, factual communication with the public.
The revision will review and remove duplicated technical material where it is already adequately addressed in newer or revised Recommendations. Such material will be replaced, where appropriate, by references to the documents in which it is more appropriately maintained. This will improve consistency, reduce duplication and retain K.121’s focus on compliance management and public communication.
The proposed title, “Guidance on environmental management, RF-EMF compliance and public communication for radiocommunication base stations”, more clearly reflects these complementary aspects of the Recommendation and makes its public communication component explicit.
