Summary: The technical report will focus on the following points: Analysis of use cases & networking requirement of in-vehicle optical networks Feasibility study on the possible use of fiber-based in-premises networks (such as G.fin/G.Xfin)) in in-vehicle optical networks. Study of network architectures based on FIP network for in-vehicle optical network Gap analysis of the technical developments that would be needed to adapt a FIP-based solution to the new environment Identification of collaborations to any possible adaptation of the technology to the new environment. Identification of next challenges and technical directions for further study This report will be used to initiate discussions and collaborations with the relevant stakeholders and experts for a possible implementation of the changes needed to adapt the technology. Specifically, the report will identify the changes that may be needed in the transceiver (Q3-related) and those that would need specific expertise and collaboration with other SDOs (packaging, cables, etc.) In parallel, exchange of information will be started to gather the relevant feedback for this work from the main organizations working in this area (ISO, IEC, CCSA, IEEE, OpenAlliance, etc.). This feedback will be considered as one of the main inputs for the work in the report.
