Summary:
|
This Technical Report is motivated by the growing role of telepresence services, holographic interactions, and metaverse environments in the development of communication networks, and by the need to disseminate experience in model network application within ITU-T activities. The evolution of networks toward IMT-2030 and interactive immersive services requires new approaches to service testing and validation capable of reflecting the complexity of real metaverse deployments.
A model network purpose-built for metaverse service testing – incorporating the required traffic generation, impairment emulation, and service measurement capabilities – can serve as a practical platform for conformance, interoperability, and performance evaluation of metaverse services under controlled but realistic conditions.
This Technical Report specifies the architecture and facilities of a model network for metaverse service testing. It describes representative use cases, the model network topology, and basic operational test scenarios supporting the validation of telepresence, holographic, and metaverse services.
