Summary:
|
The advancement of edge computing technology has prompted operators to deploy service functions, such as Firewall (FW), Web Application Firewall (WAF) and so on, across multiple edge nodes in different domains as per requirement. These edge nodes collaborate seamlessly through networks and use service function chaining (SFC) technology to connect service functions.
ITU-T Q.3065 has specified the signalling requirements and data models for service function chaining orchestration based on SRv6, laying a solid foundation for service interoperability.
This draft Recommendation will specify the test suite for interoperability testing of SFC services based on SRv6. This suite will include test cases to validate the signalling interactions between functional entities specified in ITU-T Q.3065, providing vendors and operators with a basis for verifying multi-vendor SFC interoperability. Ultimately, this will accelerate deployment, reduce integration costs, and support the scalable commercialization of SFC services.
