Summary: With advances in sensors and AI technologies, civilian unmanned aerial vehicles (CUAVs) have been widely used in disaster relief, power inspection, and other fields. In conventional practice, CUAVs collect sensing data and send it to ground stations for manual analysis. Nevertheless, large volumes of image, video, and lidar data impose a heavy transmission burden, necessitating research into end-side intelligent operating modes. Unlike traditional ground control station-in-the-loop operation, the on-device intelligence of CUAVs leverages onboard edge computing to process and analyze data from multiple sensors directly at the terminal. This approach enables an integrated workflow encompassing perception, processing, and decision-making. It reduces system dependence on communication links and human intervention, while substantially enhancing the intelligence, autonomy, and environmental adaptability of CUAVs in complex scenarios. This Recommendation specifies Requirements and a framework for on-device intelligent management of multimedia data of CUAVs. It aims to promote the standardized deployment and industrial applications of end-side on-device intelligent management in CUAVs.
