Summary: This document specifies framework and requirements of adaptive interface systems and defines a unified Standard Interface Protocol between the End-to-End driving automation system and its supporting systems. It provides categorized Standard Interface Protocol in five functional layers, followed by canonical data structures, along with relevant examples and use cases, including interface types and formulation methods and typical use case in connected and automated vehicle. This document will advance the standardization of interfaces. Unified interfaces are critical to supporting driving automation system at all levels, improving cross-platform compatibility, eliminating data silos, and streamlining data management and mining. Adaptive interfaces also demonstrate strong capability in addressing regulatory compliance, latency reduction and bandwidth consumption minimization. This document will significantly accelerate the deployment of E2E systems across diverse vehicle models and computing platforms, enabling the delivery of E2E driving automation systems with enhanced adaptivity, high safety, strong robustness, and superior HMI user experience.
