Despite IMT-2020 network and beyond technologies is enabling new service delivery capabilities through the integration of advanced communication, computing, and intelligent network management mechanisms, many underserved and unserved areas still face significant limitations in terms of communication infrastructure, service availability, and reliable access to digital resources. A service model for mobile broadband digital services provisioning in underserved and unserved areas, considers the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial network (NTN) infrastructures with edge computing resources to support the efficient delivery of mobile broadband digital services in environments with limited communication and computing infrastructure. By enabling the efficient utilization of the limited communication and computing resources available in underserved and unserved areas, the proposed service model can improve the service availability and service continuity for mobile broadband digital services.
This Recommendation specifies the concept, reference model, representative scenarios and use cases of mobile broadband digital services provisioning service, and outlines high-level technical aspects supporting the service model.
