Summary: The power consumption of central data centers, edge data centers and AI computing clusters has become a key factor affecting operation cost, renewable energy utilization, and power grid stability. Computing power and Electric power Coordination (CEC) can address the challenges of high operation cost from the network side and power supply pressure from the grid side. Existing standardization works mainly focus on the collaboration between computing power resource and network resource, without fully considering grid power conditions, renewable power availability or demand response mechanisms. Therefore, it is important to study the scheduling framework in future networks to support CEC. This Recommendation specifies requirements, framework and procedures of scheduling computing power, network and grid power resources to support CEC in future networks including IMT-2020 and beyond.
