Work item: Y.2324-rev
Subject/title: Functional architecture of orchestration in next generation network evolution (NGNe)
Status: Under study
Approval process: AAP
Type of work item: Recommendation
Version: Rev.
Equivalent number: -
Timing: 2028-12 (Medium priority)
Liaison: ITU-T SG11
Supporting members: China Telecom, CAICT, China Unicom
Summary: This Recommendation provides the general functional architecture of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled orchestration in next generation network evolution (NGNe), specifies its functional entities and establishes the functionalities of these functional entities of orchestration in NGNe, as well as providing descriptions of all reference points. Orchestration in NGNe supports not only NGNes, but also provides coordination with networks implemented by new technologies including software-defined networking or network function virtualization (SDN/NFV), as well as AI, especially from the network evolution perspective. Additionally, limitations of AI use will be included. This Recommendation builds on [ITU-T Y.2323], with which its content is aligned.
