Summary:
|
FMSC is the capability that provides services and applications to end users regardless of the fixed, mobile or satellite access technologies being used [ITU-T Y.3200]. The converged network architecture of FMSC, characterized by integrated multi‑access and multi‑core network functionalities, may introduce various interworking and compatibility issues among heterogeneous network segments in specific scenarios. Existing ITU‑T FMSC Recommendations (Y.3200, Y.3201, etc.) define requirements, framework, service enhancements and so on, but lack detailed specifications for interworking functions.
This Recommendation specifies the interworking function for FMSC for IMT-2020 networks and beyond, in the aspects of service features, requirements, network function enhancements, framework enhancements and procedures.
