Summary:
|
In the telecommunications industry, AI applications in areas such as network optimization, user analytics, and automated operation and maintenance have become increasingly widespread. However, this growing adoption has introduced unique challenges to the security of AI system supply chains. Compared to other industries, the telecommunications sector imposes stricter requirements on the reliability and security of AI systems—this is because AI systems in this industry directly impact the stability of communication networks and the integrity of data security, and any security flaws could lead to severe disruptions to core services. Additionally, the inherent complexity and specificity of the telecommunications sector (such as multi-vendor collaboration ecosystems, real-time latency-sensitive service demands, and massive volumes of sensitive user data) further amplify security risks within AI supply chains. To address these industry-specific challenges, it is imperative to establish standardized guidelines that provide actionable directions for managing AI supply chain security, ultimately ensuring the security and dependability of AI-driven operations for telecommunications organizations.
This draft recommendation aims to deliver comprehensive guidelines for AI system supply chain security management for telecommunications organizations. It covers the lifecycle of AI supply chains and provides actionable guidance. This draft recommendation equips stakeholders in telecommunications AI supply chains with holistic security management frameworks to effectively mitigate threats.
