Summary:
|
This draft Recommendation specifies the requirements and architecture of an IoT-based grid-aware workload management system for computing infrastructure to support energy efficiency and grid-friendly operation in smart sustainable cities and communities (SSC&C). It covers the basic concepts, system requirements, functional architecture and functional entities of the grid-aware workload management system. It also covers the use of IoT sensing data, grid-side signals and computing resource status to support flexible computing workload assessment, decision-making and load adjustment within computing facilities such as data centers and intelligent computing centers. This draft Recommendation aims to support improved energy efficiency, enhanced operational coordination between computing facilities and power grids, and sustainable development of SSC&C through IoT technologies.
