Summary: This draft Recommendation will specify an evaluation framework and key performance indicators (KPIs) for IoT-based power systems. IoT-based power systems are essential to the global energy transition, as they enable comprehensive perception and intelligent coordination across the generation, transmission, distribution and consumption of electricity. This draft Recommendation will define an architecture based on a four-layer “cloud-network-edge-terminal” model and establishes a four-dimensional evaluation framework. The framework covers equipment capability within each layer, interoperability of interfaces across layers, security across the full system hierarchy, and adaptability to business scenarios. It will also provide a complete set of KPIs, including their definitions, evaluation methods and reference thresholds.
