Summary:
|
In smart manufacturing, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is the enabling infrastructure. IIoT system management service provides coordinated control across device, data, network, platform, application and security domains. Current approaches monitor components in isolation, react to faults rather than predict them, and lack standardized requirements, leading to vendor lock-in, fragmented deployments, and model degradation over time. The digital twin for IIoT system management service enables bidirectional synchronization, real time state awareness, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and closed loop control.
This draft Recommendation defines unified technical requirements and a capability framework for digital twin enabled IIoT system management service in smart manufacturing for interoperable, scalable, and secure deployment.
