Summary: The rapid growth of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and gateways highlights the increasing need for secure device management. Security requirements are provided to address the challenges and threats of IoT devices and gateways (excluding network systems and platforms) for five security dimensions, namely: authentication; cryptography; data security; device platform security; and physical security in ITU-T X.1352. It is necessary to provide a set of technical controls for the implementation of security requirements for IoT devices and gateways, which will enable relevant stakeholders to implement and comply with those requirements.
