Summary:
|
The Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) is a lightweight application layer protocol designed for use in constrained Internet of Things (IoT) environments. It is widely deployed in smart metering, smart city, industrial IoT, and device management systems such as OMA LwM2M and oneM2M.
This Recommendation specifies a standardized test suite structure and detailed test purposes for CoAP conformance testing. It supports verification of protocol compliance for both client-side and server-side implementations, enabling consistent and interoperable deployment of CoAP-based IoT systems. The Recommendation is intended to be used by test laboratories, vendors, regulators, and certification bodies.
