Summary:
|
With the increasing scale, complexity, and service diversity of quantum key distribution networks (QKDN), ensuring continuous and reliable key supply has become a critical requirement. While existing standardization work has specified frameworks and indicators for dependability assessment, assessment alone is insufficient to address dynamic degradations, failures, and long-term reliability risks in operational QKDNs.
To address this gap, it is necessary to enhance QKDN with a systematic dependability assurance capability that transforms assessment results into concrete improvement actions. This includes interpreting dependability assessment outputs, identifying degradation patterns and risks, generating appropriate assurance strategies, and coordinating corrective actions across QKDN control and management layers in a closed-loop manner.
Therefore, this Recommendation will carry out standardization work to specify the conceptual model, high-level requirements and functional requirements of a QKDN dependability assurance function.
