Summary: Digital twin network (DTN) technology enables virtual mapping of physical networks for intelligent operations. Existing ITU-T Recommendations define foundational DTN architectures and data requirements but lack descriptions of graph-native technologies—such as graph databases, knowledge graphs, and graph query languages—essential for modeling complex network relationships. Since networks are cross-domain, heterogeneous, and multi-layered, making relational databases inadequate for representing interconnected entities (e.g., devices, logical elements, and paths) and performing real-time, multi-hop analysis. Graph engines inherently capture relationship semantics, enable millisecond traversals, and support expressive querying. Thus, this new Supplement introduces a graph-engine-enhanced DTN framework structured in three tiers: Graph-Based Data Processing: Native graph storage and streaming computation to unify multi-source network data, Graph-Based Data Models: Graph-schema-defined basic and functional models (e.g., for path computation, fault reasoning, traffic prediction), and Graph-Based Management: Lifecycle management and self-optimization of graph models. To extend DTN with graph-native capabilities and requirements, this Supplement will bridge the gap between DTN architecture and implementable intelligence, transforming DTNs from static visualizations into dynamic, computable assets for autonomous network operations
