Summary: The development of this draft Recommendation is motivated by Resolution 105 (WTSA-24), which promotes and strengthens metaverse standardization across various technical areas, including frameworks and interoperability. The metaverse is increasingly blurring the boundaries between the physical and digital realms, enabling immersive experiences where users interact through digital avatars within diverse virtual environments. Telepresence suits are emerging as an important type of user equipment that allow users to interact more naturally and immersively with their avatars in the metaverse. Considering that IMT-2030 identifies metaverse-related services as key use cases requiring enhanced interaction capabilities, defining signalling requirements for interactions between telepresence suits and avatars has become both relevant and timely. Building upon the interfaces defined in the draft Recommendation ITU-T Q.FITSM, Framework of interoperable telepresence suits for metaverse, this Recommendation focuses on the signalling requirements necessary to support interoperability between telepresence suits and avatars in the metaverse.
