Summary:
|
The data channel is highly flexible and can be used to carry any type of information between the User Equipment (UE) and the network or between UEs, the data channel enhanced IMS network in Q.3648 realizes the combination between data channel capability and IMS network. The Converged Media Function (CMF) is the unified media function which handle both traditional IMS network media and data channel media, which is the key function under this signalling architecture. And it’s also the basis for data channel media transmission as well as media interworking between data channel and audio/video. This draft Recommendation describes the media session protocols for interfaces on CMF.
