Summary:
|
Trustworthiness is a critical concern to be considered during design and operation of an IMT-2020 and beyond network, mainly due to its increased complexity, critical infrastructure, sensitive data, diverse devices, and ultra-reliability. At the same time, the development and evolution of DLTs (Distributed Ledger Technology) have paved the way for creating trustworthy services and infrastructures that prioritize properties like security, transparency, integrity, availability, accountability, auditability, and immutability. Integrating DLT-enabled trustworthiness in the tasks related to the network management in IMT 2020 and beyond requires careful consideration of several key factors to guarantee these properties, protecting the network against potential threats and vulnerabilities, while also ensuring that the systems can scale to meet growing demands and, consequently, meet user expectations. Within this context, this recommendation aims to present a comprehensive overview of DLT-enabled trustworthy network management in IMT-2020 and beyond, identifying the trustworthiness challenges and highlighting how the use of DLTs can address them, and to provide the requirements for DLT-enabled trustworthy network management in such networks.
