The draft Recommendation ITU-T J.ibs-sa specifies system architecture for IP broadcast services in cable television utilising multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) technology as a feature of the IMT-2020 system. Considering the limitations on availability of frequency bandwidth, the use of MIMO facilitates IP broadcasting with reduced bandwidth usage, thereby freeing more bandwidth for data communication.
