Summary: This Technical Paper provides a guideline on MIHS service models and framework to address evolving technological and market needs. It studies limitations in current IPTV standards such as ITU-T Y.1901 and Y.1910 related to multi-source content integration, AI-based quality adaptation, and platform compatibility. The study considers hybrid OTT-IPTV models and immersive media approaches, incorporating edge computing and adaptive streaming for emerging applications including user-generated content and interactive experiences. This Technical Paper will provide a foundation for Q13/21 to develop forward-looking standards that bridge traditional IPTV architectures with next-generation streaming services. The focus remains on identifying standardization needs rather than prescribing technical solutions.
