Summary: This draft Recommendation addresses the critical need for energy-efficient cooling solutions in telecommunication base stations amid rising power demands and global climate goals. It provides technical specifications and implementation guidelines for DC dual-cooling source air conditioning systems that integrate mechanical refrigeration (via DC inverter compressors) with natural cooling technologies (via heat pipes). It introduces an adaptive control strategy enabling automatic switching among 3 cooling sub-modes, mechanical refrigeration, natural cooling source refrigeration, and dual-cooling source refrigeration, with prioritization given to natural cooling source to minimize energy consumption and carbon emissions. The equipment features native compatibility with DC power sources, allowing seamless operation powered by backup batteries, energy storage, or photovoltaic arrays. The draft Recommendation also identifies several typical application scenarios, including mission-critical base stations, PV integrated base stations, etc.
