Satellite based communication systems have the ability to provide connectivity to remote and barren locations. Off late there has been rapid development in this field. This technology is appealing to different customer segment as per their own requirements. It is better to estimate the market size of different customer segments and develop various cost models that can be used to estimate the cost for providing satellite services. This study will be useful to get insights for the work item D.ecosat “Economic and regulatory aspects of provision of high-speed Internet connectivity by retail satellite operators”.
