Summary:
|
In the power Internet of things, identity authentication can ensure the legality and credibility of these terminal devices (such as smart meters, concentrators, distribution terminals, charging stations, edge IoT agents, intelligent business terminals, etc.), prevent unauthorized device impersonation, illegal device access and malicious attacks, and ensure the safety and stability of the power grid. Traditional authentication mechanisms use cryptographic algorithms to produce numerical results, that are difficult for third parties to forge in the application layer. However, the authentication mechanisms usually have problems such as protocol security loopholes and key leakage, and cannot effectively prevent the occurrence of problems such as device cloning and user identity impersonation.
This draft new Recommendation provides an authentication system based on Internet of things (IoT) and wireless signal fingerprints in power grid. This authentication system can extract unique physical features from device wireless signals and construct device fingerprints similar to biological fingerprints, and provide the ability to resist known and unknown wireless access attacks and effectively resisting imitation attacks at the signal level. And it has the advantages of fast authentication speed, low complexity, good compatibility, and no need to consider the implementation of various protocols.
This draft new Recommendation also specifies the requirements and functional architecture of the authentication system based on IoT and wireless signal fingerprints in power grid.
