Summary:
|
Electric power facilities are increasingly vulnerable to natural disasters exacerbated by global climate change, necessitating urgent action. However, conducting real emergency drills poses challenges due to the complexity of reproducing disaster scenarios, coordinating multi-party personnel collaboration across various agencies, enterprises, and sectors, and the associated high economic costs.
The metaverse, an immersive digital environment integrating digital twins, augmented reality, virtual reality, and other digital technologies and information and communication technologies, offers a promising solution. It provides a robust simulation framework for disaster prevention in electric power facilities.
This draft Recommendation specifies the requirements and reference framework of metaverse simulation service for disaster prevention in electric power facilities, which will help to optimize the emergency response strategies and improve the disaster prevention capability for electric power facilities.
