This document contains an updated baseline text on draft recommendation This document contains the output text of the draft Recommendation ITU-T L.Bio-Adapt, “Deployment of ICTs for Resilient and Sustainable Biodiversity and associated infrastructure”, that reflects the discussion on 05.06.2025(11.15AM) of Q12/5 meeting (Geneva, 3-12 June 2025).
In the recent years, there has been increasing magnitude of loss in several sectors such as road infrastructure, energy supply chains, agriculture (crops and livestock), housing, fisheries, health, water, etc. The aim of this contribution is to Explore how ICTs can be used to adapt to the effects of climate change and ensure sustainable biodiversity. The contribution Identify best practices related to climate change adaptation for the different areas. The aim is to explore how to use data in decision making through crowd sourcing and customization of information. The contribution examines how to use ICTs for monitoring the displacement and settlement of populations and infrastructure in different areas such as like coastal zones, marine ecosystems, urban and rural areas; The contribution also offers globally relevant models for disaster-resilient telecom networks, real-time environmental monitoring, and data-driven decision-making to guide future international best practices
