Summary:
|
This technical paper will provide a set of low-cost and sustainable ICT solutions tailored to the context of rural areas and communities, including climate monitoring, building climate resilient in rural agriculture systems and many more. The objective of this Technical Paper is to enhance the ability of rural areas and communities to respond to climate risks and expand their institutional capacity to accelerate climate adaptation actions.
The livelihood of rural areas and communities often rely on climate sensitive resources, such as agricultural resources and water supply. Climate change, from higher temperature to drought and heavily rainfall, can directly impact the availability of these resources. At the same time, rural areas and communities are also lacking in means to adopting climate change adaptation measures largely due to costs involved. The Technical Paper will provide universal ICT solutions that are applicable to rural communities, the Agricultural sector.
