Summary: Since 5G NR base station applies a beam-forming technology, it has an advantage of increasing data transmission-speed and sending much data using wide bandwidths, but conventional EMF evaluation methods have a limitation in real measurement due to increased complexity of human exposure in a specific space. Therefore, there is interest in a new EMF evaluation method to be applied for 5G NR base station. Considering the interest in a new evaluation methodology for 5G signal, Republic of Korea is studying New EMF evaluation method for 5G NR base station using AI, and would like to propose New evaluation method to ITU-T SG5. When this EMF evaluation method based on AI is completed, new evaluation methodology might be applied to a compliance test of put into service for 5G NR base station in future.
