Summary: Recommendation ITU-T G.8275.2 specifies a profile for telecommunication applications based on precision time protocol (PTP) per [IEEE 1588]. This profile specifies the PTP functions that are necessary to ensure network element interoperability for the delivery of accurate phase/time (and frequency) synchronization. The profile is based on the use of partial timing support (PTS) or assisted partial timing support (APTS) from the network architecture as described in [ITU-T G.8274] and definitions described in [ITU‑T G.8260]. Common aspects of PTP profiles for phase/time synchronization are specified in [ITU‑T G.8275]. Revision incorporates the following updates: Updated references and abbreviations Updated clause 6.7.6 and clause 6.7.7, and added corresponding data set members in Table A.1 Added description on PTSF for a virtual PTP port in clause 6.7.11 Added portDS.wtrRemainingTime in clause 6.7.12 and in Table A.5 Aligned the descriptions of clause 6.8 to G.8275.1, and added corresponding data set members in Table A.1 Added defaultDS.timeSinceCurrentClockMode in clause 6.10 and in Table A.1 Updated clause 8 and clause A.8 Added a new annex, Annex G Renumbering the table numbers
