This Recommendation specifies a framework of low-latency and energy-efficient networks (L2E2 networks) to support emerging use cases in future networks that require high capacity, low latency, and high energy efficiency. It describes a scenario of low-latency and energy-efficient communications, as well as federation of L2E2 networks. It then identifies the framework and high-level requirements for L2E2 networks derived from the use cases described in several related ITU-T documents.
