Subject/title: Network capability enhancement for distributed artificial intelligent computing centers in NGNe
Status: Under study [Issued from previous study period]
Approval process: AAP
Type of work item: Recommendation
Version: New
Equivalent number: -
Timing: 2025-03 (High priority)
Liaison: IETF CATS
Supporting members: China Unicom, China Telecom, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China
Summary: With the rapid development of artificial intelligent(AI), an increasing number of computing-intensive tasks require uploading massive data to artificial intelligent computing centers(AICC) or transferring it across AICCs which require the coordination among distributed AICCs. This brings new demands and challenges to network transmission in terms of bandwidth, latency, and reliability. This Recommendation provides typical scenarios, network enhancement requirements and architecture of network capability enhancement for distributed AICCs in next generation network evolution (NGNe) to accommodate these challenges.
