Based on the high bandwidth, low latency, high reliability of the international mobile telecommunications-2020 (IMT-2020) networks, automated parking service can be provided for drivers. Automated parking service based on vehicle gateway platform (VGP) helps drivers to complete the process of fully autonomous, unmanned parking and vehicle summoning outside the vehicle, including cruising from the driver drop-off point to the designated parking space, parking the vehicle, and summoning the vehicle from its parking space to the driver pick-up point. It integrates communication network, service platform, roadside unit (RSU), perception and positioning devices in parking facilities, perception and positioning devices carried by vehicles, and mobile application, to cooperate with the vehicle to complete parking and vehicle summoning task. Automated parking service helps drivers in solving the problems of difficulty in parking and finding a vehicle. It will greatly improve the convenience and efficiency of parking, reduce traffic congestion or accidents caused by parking, improve the efficiency of parking facility usage, and greatly meet the needs of drivers for parking comfort, convenience and safety.
