Summary:

Building up the IoT-based smart crop growth monitoring system is essential to modern agricultural development. Traditional monitoring of crop growth often relies on manual inspection and sampling, which is both inefficient and susceptible to human subjective factors, potentially leading to bias in the monitoring results. Besides, the research and application of crop growth monitoring technology is relatively lagging behind, and the effective linkage with agricultural environment monitoring technology also appears to be insufficient.
Therefore, it is necessary to define the IoT-based smart crop growth monitoring system including device layer, network layer, service and application support layer and application layer, from an ICT perspective. The IoT-based smart crop growth status monitoring system can provide real-time monitoring, intelligent analysis of crop growth status, yield prediction and guidance for the growth process. This system can enhance the efficiency of agricultural production, optimize the allocation of resources, reduce production costs, minimize risky losses, and ultimately increase grain yield and quality. It provides solid technical support for the precise management and efficient production of modern agriculture and promotes the sustainable development of agriculture.
